🐾 Dog Exercise Plan: Weekly Routine

Monday – Park Play

  • 30–60 min walk (on-leash or off-leash park)
     
  • 15 min fetch or tug-of-war
     
  • Mental stimulation: Hide treats or toys in the grass
     

Tuesday – Urban Exploration

  • 40 min leash walk (urban setting or nature trail)
     
  • Practice basic commands (sit, stay, heel) during walk
     
  • 5 min gentle stair climbing or obstacle practice
     

Wednesday – Rest + Mental Enrichment

  • Short 20–30 min walk
     
  • Brain games: Puzzle feeder, frozen Kong, hide & seek
     
  • Gentle stretching or massage if the dog is older
     

Thursday – Beach or Bush Walk

  • 60 min walk (off-leash if safe)
     
  • Let them explore natural smells, water, or light hills
     
  • Sniffing time is brain exercise — let them lead!
     

Friday – Obedience + Light Jog

  • 30 min walk + 10 min jog (if your dog is fit)
     
  • 10 min obedience or agility practice (weave between cones, sit-stay)
     
  • End with cuddles and fresh water
     

Saturday – Social Day

  • Visit a dog park or set up a doggy playdate
     
  • Let your pup socialize (watch for signs of stress)
     
  • 45–60 min light/moderate activity
     

Sunday – Easy Adventure

  • Nature walk or local hike (45–60 min)
     
  • Bring water and snacks
     
  • End the day with a grooming session (brushing, paw check)

  • Hydration is essential before and after play
     
  • Always check for hot pavement, especially in summer
     
  • Watch for signs of overexertion (excessive panting, limping)
